my essentials.

saw the photo up there? yep.that's what i need during class and when i'm studying. during my A-Levels, which was in 2005, i tried various types of highlighters, coloured pens, pens, rollers and even the papers i used during class.

and after various trials&errors, now i'll only use stabilo highlighters. why? i like their yellow colour as it's sharp enough. some other brand's yellow is quite dull. but i felt that the colours sold are quite limited. they should have more different shades of purple! not only that, it's not this stabilo highlighter is not very bulky, so i can easily fit all of it into my pencil case.

whereas for the coloured pens, i use stabilo as well since it's the only brand that provide the most variety of colours and it's ballpoint is quite fine, it's useful to add in short notes at the margin of my paper.

and the most,most important is my G1 pens.i'm proud to say that that 2 pens you see above was bought when i started Inter (2006) it's still in a good condition until today and all i have to do is get the refils. and i must,must use only 0.7 - blue. not black. why? it's more appealing to me lah. i like that it's thick enough (not too thick). i know that if the ballpoint is thicker, the ink will finish faster, and that...i think is one of the disadvantage of that pen. i think i spent hundreds just on the refils. class started around mid-September, and now is only the beginning of November, my 1st round of refils are already finished! (1st round as in, i'll buy 10 refils) and i bought my 2nd round already. sigh.

i even had a specific pen to use for examination purpose only. i was told not to use inked pen during examinations as there's possibility of examiner spilling his/her drink or water on my answer script, and everything will be gone! although i much prefer to use ink pen, i trained myself using ballpoint pen (for me, extra effort need to be put in when i'm writing, as the "ink" for ballpoint pen can't come out as smoothly as inked ones) -- i know i sounded like some obsessed-with-pen-freak, but i can't help it! (i was damn surprised that we're not allowed to bring our own stationaries for IELTS! what if i get some stupid pen without a good grip???! )

next..rollers. ahh...this is essential. i'll be very pissed with myself if i didn't bring it to class! because, i tend to use it a lot. and... i can't even remember this is the number-what-roller is used since September. and i only use whipper-mini roller. i tried lots of brands before, and i'll always get frustrated if it can't roll on my paper properly, or it breaks etc.etc. it cost me about RM11 for 3. and..really, i can't remember how many rollers i had bought. sigh.

and whoever created Post It, i have to salute and thank you! it really makes life much much easier, for example u want to jot down some important things in ur textbook, and sometimes there's not enough space, all i need to do is just write it on Post It and stick it! and sometimes when our lecturers realised they missed something important and wants us to take down notes (despite moving on to the next subtopic) i just have to take out my Post It and write it there.

ohyaa! and different highlighter colours had different function.

• yellow - cases and judges' names. and i'll underline it with my red ink pen
• orange - Acts, Directions, Rules - underlined with red ink pen too
• green - academicians, articles - underlined with red ink pen.
• blue,purple,pink - important points. depending on my mood to use which colour at that time.

i just love seeing my notes full with colours, colours, colours! it made studying,reading a more "enjoyable" process.
