Banana Leaf Rice at Bangsar

FINALLY, after being a Malaysian for 21 years, this is my 1st time having banana leaf! well, those nasi lemak on banana leaf doesn't count! well, it was actually Wendy's idea to had banana leaf, and there's this famous place for banana leaf at Bangsar called Sri Nirwana Maju located along Jalan Telawi 3 (Opposite Bangsar Village 2).

That place was really, really packed. we had to wait for about 10 mins before we manage to get a seat. Ragini told us that once we are done eating, we have to leave that place...it's not really allowed to sit down and chit chat after the meal.

Anyways, i was quite excited, considering this is my 1st time. i'm like total blur case! ok, 1st the staff will lay out the banana leaf.

well, the banana leaf given is much thicker than our usual nasi lemak ones, but ofcourse u can't poke it too hard if not ur gravy will spill!

next, the staff will scoop out the side dishes consisting of kangkung, cucumbers and fried bitter gourd. (this is the 1st time i actually enjoyed eating bitter gourd..it's really crispy!)

then they will scoop the rice. it's up to u whether u want normal rice or indian rice (it has lesser carbs!) and it's up to u how big u want the proportion to be. and later the gravy will be given, can chose - fish curry, chicken curry, "dal"

extra side dishes - pickles, dried chili, fried chicken, rendang chicken, fish etc will be given upon request. ohya..and pappadam too! it's the thing in the middle inside the basket. Wendy loves those!

and the gooood thing about having banana leaf is that its price is very, very reasonable. it's a filling lunch and the total cost is RM 29 (3 pax) !

after our heavy lunch, we shop around in Bangsar (well, only Wendy shops whilst me and Ragini just browse through the various dresses/tops/heels/pants) There are tons of shops there and i can never remember which shop is located at which Jalan Telawi. T___T

ohya! and when we were about to head to PurpleDotz (very near Starbucks) i saw DJ GOLDFISH!!!!!! i was stunned for a moment! he must really like starbucks, cos seen him at different Starbucks few times already...
