Rational / Irrational.

it was always said that what truly distinguished human beings from other beings is our ability to rationalised. we are able to rationalise what is right or wrong, what we ought or ought not do. yet sometimes i find it really ironic that, us humans always end up doing the irrational thing.

for example, if i had a long and tiring day on thurs; i shouldn't go clubbing at night.yet irrationality override rationality..i ended up going. and working on the very next day, and a long meeting at night. Rationality tells me i should crash into my bed once my meeting ended, yet i agreed to watch a late night movie with my sister. etc etc etc.... not only me, almost everyone i know will do something irrational. my friends, my families, my students, etc etc...

our lives are filled up with irrationalities. we do things although we know we ought not do it. we did things that are sometimes wrong and immoral consciously.

how are we to explain all this when we are suppose to be the only rational being in this world? are we then in actual fact irrational beings as well?

Shopping In Singapore

Last saturday, i went to Singapore with Wendy for 3 days. This time, we went there by air. This is my very, very first time flying to Singapore! I usually take the bus as it's cheaper, though it took much longer. Anyways, AirAsia is doing this huge promo, so it only cost us like RM144 2 ways, inclusive of SkyBus. So, it's a good deal, right?

For me, the main purpose of this trip is to shop. Back in KL, i don't really buy much stuff, honestly, i don't know why. Even a shorts for RM30 to me it's expensive. But somehow, in Singapore, i'm able to buy more, of course price is still a factor...But maybe because of its wider choice selection? or the better quality? I don't know; to me $30 for 2 shorts is cheap and worth buying. I know that once i convert back to Malaysian Ringgit, it'll actually cost about the same...BUT...so???I still enjoy shopping in Singapore! *laughs*

Especially in July, since it's their Great Singapore Sale now (29 May - 26 July)

This time, our time was slightly limited, as we only spend 3 days there. For a full and thorough shopping in Singapore, i'll need at least 4 days. But, the longer we stay...the more our accommodation will cost as well.*sigh*

Basically, we were able to cover
1) Far East Mall, Orchard Road
2) Bugis Street & Bugis Junction
3) Marina Square
4) Junction 8 in Bishan (i love their cotton on shop there)

I manage to buy:
*converse shoe
*2 flip flops
*2 shorts
*a pair of heels
*one dress
*one top

All i can say that it's a good bargain! Even after converting to Malaysian Ringgit, the satisfaction of purchasing it! (Although i can't beat Wendy's satisfaction of buying a pair of rubber shoes which she wore it once purchasing, and few hours later after purchasing another Crocs shoes and wore it immediately as well...)

Anyways, our journey back to KL is not that smooth. Well, there's nothing much i can really complain about, we paid a cheap amount of RM for our flight ticket, so it's usually bound to reciprocate with the service we get...

We checked in 2 hours before departure time, went through immigration almost immediately after checking in, since the gate opens usually 45 mins before departure, we just walk around the shops and had a quick dinner. 30 mins before our departure time, we walked slowly to our gate...then pass by the flight information..stating our Gate is CLOSING! WTH? I thought it just opened! We ran. YES. RAN..i think more than 300 metres? Ran. Ran. People were staring at us. We ran, stopped for a gulp of air. Run run run........ Finally, we reached our gate. Scan our bag, and the officer was like asking me to chill and cool. breath in and breath out....i wanted to ask, i thought the gate is closing?! but i'm too out of breath. not only from running, but fear of missing the bloody flight. Who knows, we still have to wait there for like another 20mins++ before boarding the plane. Damn shit, we ran like some crazy cows for NOTHING!

Well, as a whole, that's the worst part of our trip.

Ohya, my leg is extremely sore. Not from running in the airport (well, maybe that affects a little) but due to walking toooooo much in Singapore!

Opening Up the Old Anger.

Few months back, I received an invitation via Facebook to join this online group thing, where upon registration (for free), you'll get free access to legal discussion and law notes etc. Basically it's beneficial for students. I know this kind of forum is nothing new these days, what made me mad was the person who send this invitation to me.

When I was still in my 2nd year degree, there was this junior who wanted to borrow my 1st year's notes, on all subjects inclusive of all my assignments. Usually, I was never reluctant to lend out my notes, I mean...I don't mind it. Although later I did question myself, why I actually lend it to this junior? Plus he's a total stranger. Maybe it was the polite manner he approached me and asked me?

However, since I wouldn't need those notes anytime soon, I lend my whole stack of notes...which was done, written, researched by myself. Whether search through online, going through mulitple case laws, texts, articles...basically I'm proud to say that it's really complete.

Anyways, somehow my notes was..erm, literally passed to a 3rd party and ended up in a lecturer's hand.My college lecturer,by the way. And....this lecturer, breached my copyright of my notes. How I knew it, is another story...But not from the lender of my notes nor that lecturer. When I found out about it, I was damn pissed. I confronted that junior, who later inform that lecturer.

That lecturer subsequently called me and apologised, explaining the reason he needs those notes is for a particular online discussion thingie. I don't care if he's a lecturer, I know I sounded harsh and maybe a bit rude when we were on the phone...BUT, what can I do? I was way too PISSED!

Yea,maybe I can sue the lecturer, I can demand for some form of compensation. I can request him to remove my portion of notes from the page. BUT, who am I to do that? I was just a 2nd year student, I was not exposed to IP Law yet.

And this lecturer was the one who sent the invitation in FB to me.

Although after that incident I didn't want to think about it nor mind so much about it anymore. But to actually see that web page with my own eyes just pissed the hell out of me.

Call me stingy for not sharing my knowledge or whatever. But my perception is that knowledge is to be shared, if it was asked and given in an appropriate manner.

Dine in FRAMES Reminisce at TTDi Plaza.

the first time i heard about Frames was when me and jan were searching for places to dine for our friend's birthday celebration. jan manage to find this place via my.bestfoodjunction.com. so we decided to head to that place.

the decorations and Frames' style is indeed unique. the shelves are designed with lots of frames, containing pictures from all around the world. the lighting of the restaurant is just nice, not too bright nor too dark, hence photos taken there usually result in great effect. the restaurant is chilly, and not warm at all.some restaurants i know of, usually keep the temperature slightly higher, just to avoid customers from hanging around after finishing their meal...

comfortable purple chairs with cushions.

Their main cuisine is Western, but there are some limited Asian cuisine there as well. Their food are pretty good, price ranging from RM20-45++ inclusive of drinks. If you want to check out more on their menu - http://practigance.blogspot.com
